MotoMount (“MotoMount”, “we”, “us”) is a ride-planning and rider-community app operated by Bikva OPC Pvt Ltd, India. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use the MotoMount mobile app and this website.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, password (stored hashed) or Google sign-in, and optionally gender and a short bio.
- Phone number — verified by a one-time code through Firebase Authentication.
- Photos — your profile photo, vehicle photos, ride cover photos, post photos, and a selfie if you choose to verify your profile.
- Vehicles — make, model, registration number and photo of vehicles you add.
- Rides and community activity — rides you create or join, itineraries, ratings and reviews, posts, comments, likes and who you follow.
- Messages — ride group and direct chat messages, including images, voice notes and shared locations.
- Location — used to show rides near you, to share your live location with a ride you've joined (only while you turn it on), and when you send an SOS alert. We also keep the approximate location you register with, to estimate distance to nearby rides.
- Device information — a push-notification token so we can send you ride updates and messages.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and show your profile to other riders.
- To let you create, find, join and manage rides, and to coordinate them through chat and notifications.
- For safety features — live location sharing, SOS alerts, verified profiles and ratings.
- To keep the community safe — reviewing reports, investigating misuse and enforcing our Terms.
- To reply when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who can see your information
- Other riders can see your public profile (name, photo, bio, verification badge, ride and rating history) and your community posts.
- Your ride group — the organiser and joined riders — can see ride details, group chat and, only while you share it, your live location. An emergency contact you add to a ride is visible to joined riders.
- Your phone number and email are not shown on your public profile.
- Service providers that process data for us: Google Firebase (phone verification and push notifications), Google Sign-In, Cloudinary (photo and media storage), Oracle Cloud (servers in India), OpenStreetMap Nominatim (address search), OSRM (route drawing) and Open-Meteo (weather). They only receive what they need to provide their service.
- Authorities, where required by law.
4. Emergency SOS
Pressing SOS on a ride sends your name and current location to that ride's organiser and every joined rider so they can help. MotoMount does not contact emergency services for you — if you're in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (112 in India).
5. Your choices and controls
- Edit your profile, photo, bio and gender anytime from the app.
- Turn live location sharing on or off per ride; turning it off stops sharing immediately. You can also revoke location permission in your phone's settings.
- Choose which notifications you receive in Settings → Notifications.
- Leave any ride to stop sharing ride-specific data with that group.
- Delete your account — see how account deletion works.
6. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your name, email, profile photo, bio and notification tokens are removed immediately and your account can no longer be used. Some remaining data is kept as described on our account deletion page, where you can also request its complete erasure.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and passwords are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
8. Children
MotoMount is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app.
